Survival Adult Abuse Center, Inc.
Survival Adult Abuse Center, Inc. was formed in 1982 by a group of concerned citizens in Johnson County, Missouri. Initially, emergency shelter and a crisis hotline for domestic violence victims were the only services available to the victims of domestic violence. It became quickly apparent that more services were needed. The current shelter facility was purchased in 1997.
Currently our services include, but are not limited to, a crisis hotline for victims to discuss options, 24 hour emergency shelter, referrals to other agencies, case management, crisis intervention, court advocacy, resource advocacy, sexual assault advocacy and a volunteer program.
Survival continues to expand and increase its services to both resident and non-resident victims in west central Missouri. The current goal of Survival, in addition to providing shelter and outreach services to domestic violence victims, is education to the victims as well as the community, on the nature and dynamics of domestic violence.
